Yoga & Massage Therapy
Saving Grace
Grace is a qualified massage therapist who has had a wide range of training in a variety of modalities from around the world. Based at Agualina Kite Hotel – Kite Beach Cabarete, she graduated with distinction from the Southern School of Natural Therapies in Melbourne, Australia in 2002 with a massage therapy certificate.
After her studies in Australia, she travelled to Thailand to study Nuad Bo Raran, the traditional Thai healing massage. She completed the four levels required for certification at the ITM (Institute of Thai Massage) in Chang Mai. She also completed a course in Thai foot reflexology, head reflexology and herbal massage.
On her return home, she was involved in a serious accident that confirmed the importance of being an active participant in the healing process. Her own long rehabilitation process gave her a greater understanding of injury and her role as a practitioner.
Grace has been practising yoga and Pilates since the mid 90’s. In 2010 she travelled to India to study Ayurveda (India’s oldest health system) and to deepen her yoga practice. She completed a 400-hour yoga teacher training programme at the Swami Vivekananda Yoga Anusandhana Samsthana after discovering the benefits that daily yoga practice had on her health and well-being. Trained in classical yoga (the original 8-limbed Ashtanga practice as outlined by Patanjali), she has also taken courses in yoga therapy to further enhance her practice.
