is a great base for hiking in and around Cabarete, Dominican Republic. With a wide range of trails, it’s easy to find the best route for your needs. From easy strolls through the countryside to more challenging hikes, the area has something for everyone. The lodge is a good 40 minutes drive from Cabarete, which means that once you get there you are pretty isolated, even if you have a car. So if you’re looking for a unique and beautiful hiking experience, Tubagua Ecolodge is the perfect place for you!

It is possible to stay for a tasty lunch or drink after the hike in the nice restaurant with a fantastic view. Guests are served by a family style kitchen with a local cook who plans and prepares meals according to the day’s visitors. There is no set menu, however, please advise the staff of any dietary requirements at the time of your reservation. You will need to pre-order your meal before the trek. They also offer a special local coffee.

Please take some small water bottles with you, dehydration can happen very quickly. Do not forget a pair of good shoes or at least runners. Flip-flops are not practical.
